This idea came from a brief by a mayoral candidate in Pachacámac. Instead of celebrating Peru's independence with another patriotic message, the challenge was to ask a more uncomfortable question: Are we truly free?
The insight was simple: the freedom we experience today is not only inherited from the past, it is shaped by the choices we make in the present. Every election is an opportunity to define the kind of country we want to live in.
The film invites people to make a collective act of self-reflection. Rather than blaming history, politicians, or circumstances alone, it reminds us that the reality we live today is also a consequence of the leaders we choose. Our vote is more than a right; it is a responsibility. In many ways, the freedom we have today is the freedom we vote for.
